Small Oktoberfest Munich – Spring Festival at Theresienwiese
Munich's Little Oktoberfest
The Munich Spring Festival is also referred to by many visitors as the little Oktoberfest. It takes place annually on the Theresienwiese and is considered the spring equivalent to the world-famous Oktoberfest.
In 2026, the Spring Festival celebrates a special anniversary, taking place for the 60th time. From April 17th to May 10th, visitors can expect a mix of rides, beer tents, and traditional fair stalls.
Among the classic attractions are the colorful gingerbread hearts with sayings, sold at many folk festivals. At the stand of Schifferl's Herzlmalerei, already known to many visitors from Oktoberfest, these traditional hearts can be discovered.
In addition to gingerbread hearts, visitors can also find sweet fairground specialties such as roasted almonds, nuts, popcorn, and cotton candy.
For many guests, a stroll across the little Oktoberfest with a sweet snack or a gingerbread heart is one of the most cherished memories of the Spring Festival in Munich.
